Buffalo plays New England this weekend and the Patriots have
long been one of the Bills’ most bitter rivals. Over the years the
Bills have had a very hard time winning up in Boston, and Sunday’s
game should be no exception.
While the Pats are not playing up to par, they bring a 3-3
record to the game, they are still arguably the top team in the
AFC. Remember, this is the same New England team that came to
Buffalo a couple of years ago and lost 31-0 in the opener and Coach
Williams and Drew Bledsoe were on the fast track to sainthood. By
the end of the season, Buffalo was on the outside looking in at the
playoffs and the Patriots won the Super Bowl.
During the Bledsoe years it was always a big game when the Bills
went to New England and Drew was going to show his old teammates.
Buffalo was usually out of the game by the end of the National
Anthem.
New England has struggled this year, but what better way for
them to get their act back together than to play the ungracious
host to their old pals from Buffalo.
Can Buffalo win in New England? Sure. If you disagree just come
down to the pumpkin patch where I’ll be patiently waiting for the
Great Pumpkin to appear and we’ll talk about it.
What might be the biggest game of the weekend will see the
Washington Redskins visiting the New York Giants with a share of
first place on the line in the NFC-East. The Monday Night game
might not be to bad either as Pittsburgh gets to spank Baltimore on
national television.
Let’s look at the weekend games:
BUFFALO AT NEW ENGLAND: It will take quite a witch’s potion for
the Bills to win this one. The Patriots always play tough against
the Bills and they always play even a little more tougher when the
game is in New England. Trick or treat! NEW ENGLAND BY 8
WASHINGTON AT NEW YORK GIANTS: Joe Gibbs has really fired up the
Skins as its been quite a few years since the team was competitive
this late in the season. The Giants are showing strength under Eli
Manning, but he still needs some seasoning. ANDY’S UPSET SPECIAL:
WASHINGTON BY 4
PHILADELPHIA AT DENVER: Big game for both teams as Denver needs
a win to keep ahead of Kansas City, while the Eagles need a win to
stay abreast with New York and Washington. That thin air at Mile
High might be the difference. DENVER BY 1
GREEN BAY AT CINCINNATI: Cincy has to be one of the biggest
surprises of the year, while the Pack has just fallen apart. It’s a
group effort in Green Bay – everybody stinks. CINCINNATI BY 8
CHICAGO AT DETROIT: Another old rivalry from the Black and Blue
Division. Both are 3-3 and the winner tops the NFC-North division.
Been lots of winning this week in Chicago. CHICAGO BY 5
TAMPA BAY AT SAN FRANCISCO: Tampa Bay tops its division while
the Niners are playing like girlie-men. Enough said. TAMPA BAY BY
11
KANSAS CITY AT SAN DIEGO: A bruising contest. The Chargers are
home and KC is about to start its annual choke. SAN DIEGO BY 3
MINNESOTA AT CAROLINA: Rumor has it that the Vikings are going
to come disguised as professional football players. What a team.
CAROLINA BY 7
OAKLAND AT TENNESSEE: The Raiders should have little trouble
with Tennessee as the Raiders played a real confidence builder last
Sunday against Buffalo. OAKLAND BY 3
ARIZONA AT DALLAS: If Dallas can’t beat the Cardinals it’s time
to call this team the Cowgirls. DALLAS BY 10
CLEVELAND AT HOUSTON: Winless Houston has a chance this week as
the Brownies come to town. Both teams have an anemic offense, but
that Cleveland defense may be the difference. CLEVELAND BY 2
MIAMI AT NEW ORLEANS: The game is in Baton Rouge, but, it’s
still the Saints. MIAMI BY 4
JACKSONVILLE AT ST. LOUIS: Toss a coin here. ST. LOUIS BY 3
BALTIMORE AT PITTSBURGH: A cold, Halloween night in Pittsburgh
will be a fine night for some football and it will be a long, scary
evening for the Ravens. PITTSBURGH BY 6
