Owls rally for win over Chucks

PUNXSUTAWNEY – The Bradford High boys soccer team learned a
valuable lesson Wednesday afternoon – do not take teams for
granted.

The Owls (10-5-1) rallied from a 3-1 second-half deficit to beat
Punxsutawney 7-3.

“I think we were taking this team (Punxsy) for granted,” BAHS
coach Wes Lohrman said. “I think Punxsy sent a message to our
guys.”

Micah Irwin and Adam Feura scored three goals each for Bradford.
Steve Butler added four assists and Irwin had one assist. Nick
Palmer also scored for the Owls.

Micah Ridley was in goal for Bradford, making four saves.

Tony Morrison was in goal for the Chucks. He was credited with
15 saves.

John Tibbs had two goals and Khris Cleary one for the
Chucks.

The Owls regrouped in the second half.

“Nobody got frustrated,” Lohrman pointed out. “We resorted to
the way we know how to play soccer and we walked away a better team
today.

“Micah Irwin stepped up his play once again and was up and down
the field. We moved him to forward in the second half and he scored
three goals. He played outstanding.”

The Owls are at Redbank Valley at noon Saturday. The JV Owls
host Smethport at 4 p.m. today.
