Jared Feura set a school record on his way to leading Bradford
to its eighth and ninth wins of the season Tuesday.
The Owls defeated Clearfield 15-50 and Otto-Eldred 18-45.
Otto-Eldred defeated Clearfield 19-38.
“The course was a little sloppy in places but Feura ran hard all
the way,” BAHS coach Tom Tessena noted.
Feura broke Steve Kirkland’s record of 16:56 which was set two
weeks ago with a time of 16:50.
“Jared went by the mile mark in 5:13 and just kept up that
pace,” the coach noted. “It was good to see him get the record
today.”
Feura was named the Fuhrman Chiropractic Runner of the Meet.
Steve Kirkland took second place for Bradford, with Chris
Bogenschutz of Otto-Eldred breaking up the Owls with a third. It
was then Colton Langianese taking fourth, Ben Moran running in
fifth, Mike Foerstner finishing sixth, Anthony Cavallaro in seventh
and Rich Bartlebaugh placing eighth in a personal best time of
18:30. Andy Gaieski was the only other Terror placing in the top 10
with a ninth-place finish, while Bradford’s Patrick Perschke was
10th in a personal best time of 19:15.
“We were very pleased with how well these guys ran today,”
Tessena declared. “Their hard work was apparent. They all ran some
good times considering the weather and course conditions.”
Other Owl runners were Jarret Clarke who took 11th, John
Karrasch who placed 13th in a personal best time of 19:53 and Ben
Pfeil who also posted a personal best time of 20:33 in placing
18th.
In middle school action, Fretz swept the first six places with
Matthew White placing first in 9:29 on the 1.65-mile course.
Michael White took second in 9:36, Adam Barnes was third in 9:56,
Evan Feura finished fourth in a personal best of 10:01, Corey
Little was fifth in 10:37 and Zach Acton finished sixth in
10:48.
O-E’s Will Duke (10:55) and Torrey Johnson (11:44) took seventh
and eighth, respectively. Fretz’s Jamie Karrasch finished ninth in
a personal best time of 11:48.
“Hopefully, these times will be a good indication of how well we
can do Saturday when we go down to State College to run against the
top teams from District 6,” Tessena said.
