Unidentified man injured

An unidentified man was injured after he fell into the
Tunungwant Creek between Barbour and West Washington streets
Thursday morning.

According to a spokesman for the Bradford City Fire Department,
responders helped rescue the man from the concrete creek bed at
about 4:30 a.m.

The man said he fell into the creek from Barbour Street near the
Zippo Manufacturing Co. headquarters parking lot, according to the
Bradford City Police. A passer-by was walking along Mechanic Street
toward Country Fair when he spotted the man lying on the creek bed
and called for help.

Police said the passer-by said he could hear the man moaning
from below. The man suffered an injury to at least one leg, police
said.

Bradford City Fire Department responded with a land rescue crew
of five men and were on the scene just under an hour. The
ambulance, Tower 1 and Engine 1 were also on scene.

An ambulance transported the man to Bradford Regional Medical
Center.

The man was not charged, police said.

There was no further information Thursday night.
