KANE – Paige Ambrose took first place as Bradford High beat Kane
19-42 in girls cross country action Tuesday.

Ambrose’s time of 22:24 and Erica Pascarella’s second-place time
of 22:48 earned them Fuhrman Chiropractic Runners of the Week.

“These two young ladies had a great week in both of their dual
meets and practices,” said Bob Macfarlane, BHS coach. “Paige and
Erica are getting stronger and more confident each meet. Their
attitude is to do well and place high in each meet.”

Kane’s Jeanette Mosier placed third (22:51).

Sarah Trumbull and Sam Cota-Robles took the fourth and fifth
spots, respectively.

“With her best time of the year, Sarah is running with a lot of
heart and desire now,” offered Macfarlane. “She’s vital to the
team’s success.

“Sam is also running with a lot of heart at this point in the
season,” Macfarlane said. “We need for her to continue to
improve.”

Taking the sixth spot was Meghan Moore of Kane (23:22).

Ellie Imhof (24:09), Megan Foster (24:29) and Kara Holsinger
(25:06) finished off the seventh, eighth and ninth spots for the
Lady Owls. Also running for Bradford were Kara Piganelli (27:59),
Shannon Taylor (28:59), Olivia Goble (29:02) and Kevryn Boser
(30:07).

“I was happy of the outcome of tonight’s race,” Macfarlane
declared. “The girls showed a lot of class and determination. They
ran hard considering the very warm weather and the hard
course.”

In middle school action, Kane defeated Fretz 24-31.

Leading the Lady Falcons was Megan Prosser taking second place
(10:54) on the 1.6-mile course.

Also running for the Lady Falcons were Alexandra Szcupak (5th,
11:09), Lisa Lau (6th, 11:13), Taylor Burton (8th, 12:19), Hillary
Digel (10th, 13:00), Mahita Gajanan (15th, 13:49), Amanda Benner
(16th, 15:25) and Steffani Stauffer (17th, 15:36).

Bradford travels to Ridgway for the District 9 Invitational on
Saturday.

“This will be a very competitive race for many of the District 9
teams that will be competing,” Macfarlane noted.
