Kiwanis Kapers looking for local talent for their fall preformance

The Kiwanis Club of Bradford is looking for talanted individuals
who would like to be part of a Bradford tradition, the Kiwanis
Kapers.

Auditions for the club’s 48th annual show, “Kapers Choice
Awards,” were held from 6 to 9 PM on Thursday evening and well be
held again from 9 Am to noon Saturday at Futures Rehabilitation
Center, One Futures Way, off of E. Main St.

The theme for this year’s show is modeled after an annual awards
show with talent in various categories. Singers, dancers,
instrumentalists, specialty acts and entertainers of all types are
invited to audition. The show will also require one or more emcees
with comedic talent, as well as award presenters in both speaking
and non speaking roles.

As in years past, there are shoral groups numbers planned for
various age groups. Children are always a big part of the show and
parents are encouraged to get the kids involved.

Om addotopm tp stage performers, help is needed in sewing
costumes, building sets and assisting with make-up and hair.

This year’s Kapers is directed by Barb Pederson and Jon Brooks
and produced by Al Bean and Todd Peine. It will be staged at the
Bradford High School auditorium on Nov. 11, 12 and 13.

“We have plenty of talent in the Bradford area and we encourage
people to turn out to help us build an entertaining show”. said
Bean. “Kapers is always a lot of fun and I think this year’s format
will really showcase our local talent,” he said.

Kapers is the Bradford Kiwanis Club’s only fundraiser. Through
the years, over $300,000 has been raised by the Kiwanis Kapers and
donated to variety of community causes. Proceeds from Kapers
support the Bradford Area Public Library, Beacon Light, Special
Olympics, McKean Co. SPCA, Camp JJ, McKean County C.A.R.E. for
Children, Bradford Little League and many other charities. Special
emphasis is on children’s programs.
