Five different Bradford players scored on the way to a 5-0
shutout of Eisenhower in high school girls soccer Thursday.
Registering goals in the first half were Katie White, Meagan
Little on an assist from White and Steph Lyons on an assist from
Kayla Murphey.
In the second half, Amanda Morrison and Libby Cavagnaro each
found the back of the net on assists from Lyons.
“Senior Steph Lyons had a remarkable game,” emphasized Tony
Doriguzzi, Lady Owls head coach. “Steph has been producing
consistently for her team.
“Katie White and Amanda Morrison dominated the center of the
field. White left everything she had on the field tonight. What
more can you ask for?
“I was also happy to see Meagan Little score a goal tonight,”
Doriguzzi added. “She has been working extremely hard for us and
she does everything we ask of her. Tonight it paid off.”
Hope Ruffner made three saves in goal for the unbeaten Lady Owls
(3-0).
In goal for Ike, Kaitlyn McMullen was credited with 19
saves.
“We asked these girls to come out tonight and strike early and
they did just that,” Doriguzzi commented. “We had three goals
within 15 minutes. We established a good rhythm early and just kept
attacking the whole match. We fired the net at McMullen’s net 24
times.
“It was a sweet game. We couldn’t be more pleased.”
The junior varsity contest saw Leah Anderson post a hat trick in
Bradford’s 3-0 blanking of Ike. Nichole Shine picked up two saves
in goal for the Lady Owls.
Next up for the Lady Owls is a tilt with the Lady Chucks in
Punxsutawney at 11 a.m. Saturday.
