Cal U is a NCAA Division II school and Alfieri will play golf for the Vulcans in both the fall and the spring.

Alfieri’s résumé was certainly impressive enough to garner attention at the next level. During his four-year varsity career, he was a four-time North Penns Woods League MVP, four-time Smethport HS golf MVP and four-time North Penns Woods League All-Star.

Alfieri also went undefeated in individual league play during his high school career. In championship play, Alfieri was a four-time District 9 qualifier, winning the 2018 Class AA District Championship as a junior by scoring a birdie and an eagle on the last two holes to win by one stroke. He also was a three-time Pa. Western Regional golf qualifier and a 2019 PIAA State Championship qualifier, concluding his high school golf career with an impressive 17th place finish. Alfieri also led the Hubbers to two undefeated league titles in 2017 and 2019.

Alfieri has been a fixture on the Penn-York Junior Golf League circuit over the past five years. He was the 2018 and 2019 points champion and recipient of the John Forrest Most Outstanding Golfer Award. He was invited to the Betty Bergreen Junior Championship at the Bartlett Country Club all five years and was the championship runner-up in 2019. Alfieri received an invitation to the SWNY/NWPA Men’s amateur in 2017, 2018, and 2019, and was voted the 2018 top junior golfer. In 2019, he was the First Flight Champion.

On the national level, Alfieri competed for three years on the AJGA (American Junior Golf Association) tour where he participated in numerous tournaments throughout North Carolina, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and New York. In 2018, he earned performance stars in two different tournaments held in Ashland, K.Y. as well as Clymer, N.Y. In 2019, he finished in second place at the Natural Resource Partners Bluegrass Jr. Qualifier in Ashland, earning two performance stars and out-golfing 100 fellow competitors from 25 different states as well as the countries of the Philippines, Canada, Switzerland, Guam, India, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Zambia.

While being involved with the AJGA, he participated each year in the Leadership Links Program. Through his golf, Alfieri raised over $3,000 for charities including the national AJGA ACE Grant Program, The Gary Sinise Foundation, and locally for the CARE for Children’s Therapeutic Golf Program.

At Cal U, Alfieri will be majoring in sports management/pro golf management with a minor in business.
