MOUNT JEWETT — The Mount Jewett Rotary held it's 7th annual Chocolate Indulgence event Friday night at the Mount Jewett Veterans Memorial Club drawing in an estimated 150 people and raising over $5,000 to support the Mount Jewett Memorial Library, St. Matthews Preschool and the Mount Jewett Boy Scouts.
Participants were treated to every chocolate baked treat one can imagine, a chocolate fondue fountain, door prizes, raffles, a silent auction and a live auction. Live entertainment was provided by the Birch Street Boys band.
Raffle prizes included a rifle donated by Chuck and Ona Paar, a Yeti cooler full of goodies donated by Terri and Laurie Chrisman and prize money from a 50/50 raffle. All three combined raised $1,787 dollars and the live and silent auctions raised another $3,596.
The Rotary is also planning to support Mount Jewett Boy Scout Troop #410 selling fish fries to raise money for the Troop’s 2019 trip to Philmont Scout Camp.
Starting Feb. 16 through March 30, Friday nights between 5 and 8 p.m. at the Mount Jewett Veterans Memorial Club, patrons are welcome to come and support Troop #410. The scouts, their parents and leaders will be serving, and dinners will include fried fish, french fries, coleslaw, a beverage and dessert.
