Bisett Building Center & True Value at 142 Davis St. will continue as a hardware store after the sale to its new owner, M and B Group, is finalized. Slated changes include a greater selection of concrete and masonry and a store remodel.

The sale of the Bisett Building Center & True Value won’t affect customers’ ability to get what they need from the longtime Bradford business.

The sale is expected to be finalized within a month or so, according to Mike Hindman, president of M and B Group, which is purchasing the store. The store will retain its name.

Bisett Building Center & True Value is located at 142 Davis St., Bradford.

“We’re going to operate everything similarly to how it’s being operated currently,” said Hindman. “There will be a ready-mix operation on that location, and all of the current Bisett entities will still operate. True Value will still operate.”

He added that renovations and other improvements are pending.

One addition slated to come to the Bradford business is a greater selection of concrete and masonry to supplement what the store already offers. M and B Group is the parent company to DuBrook, which will be operating the ready-mix plant at Bisett.

DuBrook currently has locations in St. Marys, DuBois, Clarion, Butler and Evans City.

M and B Group is also the parent company to M and B Services.

Residents might recall seeing M and B Services crews in downtown Bradford last summer, as the company was one of the contractors making streetscape improvements on Main Street.

Hindman said they will be doing a “relatively major remodel” of the store, but he is unsure at this time as to just what that will entail.

He believes the store will be able to remain open the entire time renovations are taking place.

“Sections of it will be blocked off as we renovate,” he explained.

Hindman is excited to be expanding the business into this corner of Pennsylvania.

“We appreciate the history of Bisett Building Center in Bradford, and we’re happy to be involved with it in the community,” said Hindman.

He looks forward to the opportunity to work with the community in developing a viable business.

According to the company’s website, Hindman and Braun Gourley founded M and B in 2003 as primarily a residential concrete company, but has since grown. M and B acquired DuBrook in 2018.
