American Refining Group Inc. will conduct a live emergency drill at one of the facility’s process units this week.
The drill, which will last approximately one hour, will occur sometime between 7 and 9 a.m. Thursday at refinery equipment near Mill Street. This live drill follows a tabletop exercise conducted earlier this year simulating the same situation. Unit personnel will take all appropriate action as if there were a real emergency, just short of calling out either ARG’s response team or community first responders. This means ARG’s steam whistle will be activated and an announcement made over the plant’s radios.
