State police investigating assault, recording without consent

COUDERSPORT — State police are investigating a report that two people were assaulted and were being recorded without consent.

According to Coudersport-based state police, at 4:58 p.m. Nov. 1, Emporium-based state police were dispatched to a report of a disabled motor vehicle on Route 872, Sinnemahoning Township, Cameron County.

“Through the course of interviews it was discovered that the operator and passenger were victims of an assault and were being recorded without their consent,” a press release from police stated.

The incident was reported to have happened on Sept. 5 in Austin Borough, Potter County. One of the victims told police that she suffered injuries to her shoulder and ribs in the alleged assault.

The report remains under investigation by Coudersport-based state police.
