A Bradford man is in McKean County Jail for allegedly selling powder cocaine on East Main Street in Bradford.
Obot “Sammy” Essien, 31, has been charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; and criminal use of a communication facility, a third-degree felony.
According to the District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, on Wednesday, detectives with the McKean County Drug Task Force observed Essien sell cocaine to a confidential informant. Officers with the Bradford City Police then initiated a traffic stop on Essien’s vehicle and took him into custody, Shaffer said.
Essien was arraigned before on-call District Judge Bill Todd and remanded to jail in lieu of $20,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court Dec. 5.
