Moffatt named CFO of Journey Health System

Journey Health System has welcomed Craig Moffatt as the new chief financial officer.

Moffatt will replace Tom Kirkwood, who has retired after 31years serving as CFO for Journey Health and Stairways Behavioral Health.

Moffatt will oversee all financial operations for the support corporation as well as the affiliates: Beacon Light Behavioral Health System, Beacon Light Adult Residential Services, Forest/Warren Mental Wellness Association and Stairways Behavioral Health.

As the newest addition to the executive management team, Moffatt comes to the system with more than 30 years of financial experience in the for-profit and non-profit arenas. Moffatt is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

He has an MBA, is a certified public accountant, and has earned his master of science degree in taxation from the University of Akron in Ohio and his MBA in accounting from the University of Pittsburgh.

“The role of CFO is important in any business, but especially so in a growing health system like ours,” said Richard Seager, president and CEO of Journey Health System. “In a time when controlling costs, maximizing revenue opportunities, and providing an impeccable level of support to our affiliates is paramount, having a CFO with Craig’s credentials is essential to our continued strength.”

Moffatt will join a team of accomplished professionals who provide a broad range of support services to companies who care for children and adults suffering from mental health concerns across much of northern and central Pennsylvania.

Stairways currently employs approximately 500 people in Erie and Crawford counties and generates yearly revenues of $25 million through comprehensive behavioral health programs, including adult treatment and rehabilitation, forensic, substance abuse and crisis services, child and adolescent programming, housing and vocational support, arts and community wellness.

Beacon Light employs more than 650 people in McKean, Warren, Forest, Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson, Northumberland and Bradford counties, with a wide spectrum of child and family programs in residential and community settings. Beacon Light generates over $30 million in annual revenue.
