Third annual Rollin’ for a Cure held July 25

Bear Creek Wines presented this check for $5,206 to the American Cancer Society following the third annual Rollin’ for a Cure.

KANE — Co-owners of Bear Creek Wines, Alan and Shelly Lingenfelter, hosted their third annual Rollin’ for a Cure on July 25.

Bear Creek Wines was the start and end point, where Jeep lovers were able to participate in a Jeep run about 100 miles long. Dinner was provided by Elk County Processing & Provisions after the ride, along with entertainment from Ian Unwired and JB Unplugged. Door prizes and raffle tickets were awarded throughout the day.

The Lingenfelters reported this year to be a huge success with over 230 registered riders and 93 Jeeps along for the fun.

Bear Creek Wines opened for business in April 2018. The Lingenfelters love riding in their Jeep and were inspired to donate all benefits to the American Cancer Society because so many have experienced cancer, whether themselves, family members or friends.

Alan Lingenfelter knows this all too well. In July 2016, he was diagnosed with colon cancer. After surgery and months of chemotherapy, he was pronounced cancer-free in January 2017.

Donating to the American Cancer Society provides resources for research to find a cure for all cancers. They hope to continue this fundraiser annually with the support of the community.
