LEWIS RUN — A Smethport man is in McKean County Jail after he allegedly assaulted someone during a domestic dispute on Saturday.
According to Lewis Run-based state police, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a Route 46, Keating Township address, for a report of a domestic dispute in progress. After the investigation, police arrested Andrew Kolata, 24, of Smethport.
Kolata was arraigned before District Judge David Engman on charges of aggravated assault, a first-degree felony; strangulation, a second-degree felony; simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, second-degree misdemeanors; and summary charges of harassment and criminal mischief, court records stated.
Police said a pair of prescription eyeglasses valued at $50 was damaged, and they identified the alleged victim as a 23-year-old female.
No further information on the alleged incident was released.
Kolata was committed to jail in lieu of $25,000 bail, and he is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
