Charges bound to court in aggravated assault case
An Eldred man accused of firing a gun in the direction of a neighbor had all charges against him bound to McKean County Court at a preliminary hearing Monday before District Judge William Todd.
Terry R. Kohn, 63, is charged with aggravated assault, a first-degree felony; terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, second-degree misdemeanors; and summary harassment.
According to the criminal complaint, on Dec. 7, a different Eldred man shot a deer beyond his house on his property and used a flashlight when he was walking down the hill back toward his house.
The man heard Kohn open his back door, yell at the man to get off his property and fire multiple shots that went “whizzing” by him, the complaint alleged. The man took cover behind a large tree.
Kohn is free on $25,000 unsecured bail.
Smethport woman accused of posting nude photo of ex to Instagram
A Smethport woman is facing allegations that she posted nude photos of her ex-boyfriend on a fake Instagram account because she was mad at him.
Lottie M. Brown, 42, is charged with two counts of dissemination of sexual material to minors, third-degree felonies; identity theft, a first-degree misdemeanor; unlawful dissemination of an intimate image, a second-degree misdemeanor; and harassment, a third-degree misdemeanor.
According to the criminal complaint, at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 5, Lewis Run-based state police received a call about a fake Instagram account with a nude image on it.
The alleged victim explained to troopers that he was working out of town, when someone called to inform him of an Instagram account with a nude photo of him on it — a photo he had given to his ex-girlfriend — Brown — when he was dating her, the complaint stated.
Troopers contacted Brown by phone to have her come to the station for an interview. There, she told them that she made the Instagram account on Oct. 4 as “pay back” because she was mad at him, according to the complaint. She allegedly sent requests to two juveniles, too, for them to “follow” the account.
Brown is free on $20,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing was initially scheduled for this past Monday but has been continued to a future date.
