Nancy Taylor
Nancy Elizabeth Taylor, age 87, of Erie passed away Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Bradford on March 30, 1938, daughter of John H. and Mona B. Phillips.
Nancy was a 1956 graduate of Bradford Area High School. She married John E. Taylor on June 28, 1958, at First United Methodist Church in Bradford.
In 1960, Nancy and John moved to Erie. She worked for several years in the office at several companies: A.O. Smith, Montgomery Ward, Sears, Fowler Heating & Cooling and Erie Copy Products. In 1988, Nancy and John relocated to Seffner, Fla., and she was employed at Cummins Parts Depot in Tampa before later working at Walmart in Seffner.
Nancy took great pride in being a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading newspapers, tabloids and magazines, and loved taking scenic drives around Presque Isle State Park and through the countryside. Earlier in life she was affiliated with Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoyed being a member of The Polish Forrester’s Club. She participated in the many social opportunities offered at PFC such as couples bowling, holiday dances and pinochle card club. She currently attended Grace Church in McKean.
Nancy is survived by her children, Lynn M. (Jim) Cunningham of Sewickley and Eric M. (Melissa) Taylor of Erie; one sister, Barbara (Jim) Wilcox of Gifford; two brothers, John (Linda) Phillips of Warren and Paul Phillips of Gifford; two sisters-in-law, Molly (Jack) Griffin of Fishers, Ind., and Martha (George) Wingard of St. Marys; five grandchildren, Victoria (Taylor) Pauls of Pittsburgh, Aaron (McKenna) Cunningham of Harrisburg, N.C., Anthony Taylor of Erie, Alexander (Mia) Taylor of Smiths Station, Ala., and Megan Taylor of Erie; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Grace Cunningham, Kensley Smoot and Samuel Smoot; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Taylor, who passed May 17, 2021; and two brothers-in-law, Jim Wilcox and Jack Griffin.
A celebration of life service will be held at Grace Church in McKean at a later date. Interment will be held at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
