KANE — Walter Arthurs, 73, of Bridge Street in Mount Jewett, passed away Sunday (Jan. 4, 2026) at his residence.

He was born June 27, 1952, in Kane, a son of the late Stanley and Anna Lilley Arthurs.

Walt worked at the tannery in Mount Jewett and then at Northern Hardwood Rounds. He then worked at and retired from the Allegheny Particleboard plant.

He is survived by one daughter, Leslie Arthurs of Bradford; one granddaughter, Leah Arthurs; two grandsons, Levi and Liam Arthurs; three sisters, Jane (Richard) Armstrong of Lantz Corners, Sandy (Dennis) Davis of Warren and Bonnie (Brian) Sees of Mount Jewett; three brothers, Robert (Mary) Arthurs and James (Anna) Arthurs, both of Mount Jewett, and Paul (Pam) Arthurs of Hazel Hurst; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Sherrie Uber; and two brothers, Richard and Jack Arthurs.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
