Jeanette Watts

Jeanette M. Watts, 98, of Bradford passed away Monday, Dec. 22, 2025.

Born Feb. 4, 1927, in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late David and Myrtle Manry Walb. She was a graduate of Bradford High School.

On Feb. 14, 1947, she married Dalph E. Watts, who preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 2002.

Jeanette was an accomplished entrepreneur: working in retail shops on Main Street, selling stainless steel cookware at home parties with her husband during the 1950s and becoming a top sales manager for Cameo Lingerie Co.

She later worked 25 years as secretary/administrative assistant for First Presbyterian Church.

Jeanette was instrumental in the founding of Bradford Ecumenical Home in 1989. She started the Ecumenical Auxiliary and served on the board of directors. She was president of American Cancer Society and was active in Relay for Life for many years. She started the local chapter of Red Hats while reigning as Queen Mother.

Spending summers at their beloved cottage on Chautauqua Lake (purchased in 1958) brought much joy, laughter and good times, creating memories with lifelong friends for generations to come.

Surviving are one daughter, Marci McCleneghan of Fishersville, Va.; one grandson, Justin (Deena) Watts; one great-granddaughter, Kristine Watts; one sister, Connie (Ron) Ross; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Steven Watts; three brothers, Ken, Harold and Bill; and two sisters, Kathleen and Betty.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church.
