James Wheeler

James R. Wheeler, 78, of Bradford passed away Friday (July 18, 2025) at his home.

He was born Dec. 31, 1946, in Bradford; a son of the late Frank Sr. and Ruth Vasbinder Wheeler.

He was a 1965 graduate of Bradford Area High School.

On March 27, 1976, in Bradford, he married Jeanne L. Russell, who survives.

He was employed by Minard Run Oil for several years until his retirement.

In addition to his wife of 49 years, Jeanne Wheeler of Bradford, he is also survived by one daughter, Michelle (Mark) Therminy of Bradford; two sons, James (Heather) Ward of Clearfield and Mike (Adrienne) Wheeler of Vass, N.C.; two brothers, David (Mary) Wheeler of Buffalo, N.Y., and Andrew Wheeler of Bradford; one sister, Cheryl (Jewel) Tuitele of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren, Airabella Wheeler, Kinley Wheeler, Dalton Ward, Ben Ward, Ryan Ward, Tristan McGuire, Karlie Hoffmaster and Madison Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Wheeler Jr. and George Wheeler; and one sister, Susan Wood.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Cornplanter Cemetery, Corydon Township.

Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
