Margaret Carll
COUDERSPORT — Margaret M. Carll, 90, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, of Coudersport, formerly of Oswayo, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday (July 16, 2025) at UPMC Cole.
Born Friday, Aug. 24, 1934, in Scotch Hill, she was a daughter of Harry A. and Clara S. Simpson Nulph. In 1960, she married Albert A. “Abbie” Carll, who passed away July 26, 2011.
Margaret was a graduate of Farmington High School in Leeper, Class of 1952. She was also a graduate of Clarion College, Class of 1957, earning a bachelor’s degree in library science.
Margaret was employed as a librarian by Oswayo Valley School District in Shinglehouse. She was employed at the former JC Penney in Coudersport for 18 years.
Margaret attended the former Oswayo United Methodist Church. She later attended God’s Country Ministries in Coudersport. She was a member of the Coudersport Senior Center. She enjoyed reading and traveling with friends and her family. Her greatest love was spending time with her daughters, granddaughters and her great-grandson.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Rita (Gary) Hughes of Genesee and Cindy Carll of Coudersport; two granddaughters, Camille Glasser and Brittany Hughes, both of Bismark, N.D.; a great-grandson, Rowan Glasser; a brother, Harry Nulph of Clarion; a niece; and a nephew.
In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was predeceased by two brothers, Benton Nulph and Leigh Nulph; and a sister, Dorothy Urmson.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday (July 20, 2025) at God’s Country Ministries, 1237 E. Second St., where funeral services will follow with the Revs. Daniel and Sally Brehm, pastors, officiating. Burial will be in Scotch Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Margaret’s name may be made to Coudersport Senior Center, 200 Chestnut St., Coudersport, PA 16915; or to God’s Country Ministries, 1237 E. Second Street, Coudersport, PA 16915.
Margaret entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
