SMETHPORT — Janet L. Kelley, 67, of Eldred passed away Sunday (June 1, 2025) at Sena Kean Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Aug. 12, 1957, in Port Allegany, a daughter of Benjamin D. and Mary (Austin) Bickford.

Jan was a graduate of Smethport Area High School, class of 1975, and worked at several different jobs over the years. Her last occupation was at Northeastern Industrial in Bradford.

She was a member of the Eldred American Legion and Eldred Vets Club.

She is survived by one son, Mike (Jessie Armour) Hook of Eldred; one sister, Dianne L. Gallegos of Smethport; two brothers, William L. (Deana) Bickford of Smethport and Edward D. Bickford of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Donald J. “DJ” Calhoun; one sister, Karen L. Higley; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Bickford.

Visitation will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Monday (June 9) at Hilltop Baptist Church, Gifford, where a memorial service will immediately follow with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Farmers Valley. A luncheon will follow services at the church.

A celebration of life for Janet will be held at the Eldred Legion at 1 p.m. Thursday (July 12, 20). All are invited to attend.
