In a match that featured more forfeits than contested matches, Johnsonburg defeated Bradford in Allegheny Mountain Wrestling League action, 51-24.

The Rams (4-1 AMWL) picked up five forfeit victories on the night, while Bradford (3-4), currently afflicted by injuries and illnesses, walked away with just two.

In contested matchups, Johnsonburg won 4-2.

Dalton Stahli (138), Caden Dennis (145) and Tyler Watts (195) each picked up wins via pin for Jburg, while Christian Krug added an 8-6 decision victory in the 182 class.

In addition, Wyatt Shaffer (106), Cole Porter (120), Nolan Shaffer (132), Aiden Zimmerman (152) and Cole Casilio (160) won by forfeit.

Bradford’s Derek Sunafrank (170) and Lucas Laktash (126) won by pin for Bradford, while Andrew Krainz (220) and Dylan Mazzone (HWT) won via forfeit.

“Our lineup was a lot emptier that it has been. We’re still the walking wounded,” Bradford head coach Jamey Miller said. “The positive I can take out of tonight is we have time to get healthy before Districts. Overall, I thought the kids wrestled well, but a couple of those matches, I don’t think we should have lost… It only takes one mistake, and I tell the kids that all the time, but unfortunately, mistakes happened.”

The Bradford matmen are back in action tonight against Punxsutawney to end its regular season. Johnsonburg visits Oswayo Valley.
