Two juveniles were seriously injured when they were struck by a pick-up truck while crossing the road near Country Fair in Bradford on Wednesday evening.

Members of the Bradford City Police and fire department were dispatched at 6:40 p.m. to a pedestrian versus vehicle accident at the corner of Washington and Mechanic streets.

Police Chief Chris Lucco said the juveniles were crossing from the sidewalk by the Corner Bar toward the Just Riding Along bicycle shop when a truck traveling west on East Washington Street struck the two.

Lucco said one child was in critical condition, while the other was in serious condition, but was stable. He said transport to an out-of-area hospital was pending for one of the juveniles as of late Wednesday.

The road in the vicinity of the intersection was closed while police were awaiting a response from a Pennsylvania State Police accident reconstructionist.

Lucco said the driver was on the scene talking to police, and the investigation was ongoing. He added that police will “most likely be making use of the camera at that intersection” to help with the investigation.

No further details were immediately available.
