Two Buffalo, N.Y. women were arrested Friday in the City of Bradford for “crimes related to the sale of crack cocaine,” authorities said late Saturday.
Briana Rollins, 27, and Leonesha Brown, 26, were both remanded to jail in lieu of $75,000 bail each after an arraignment early Saturday morning before District Judge David Engman in Kane, the on-call magistrate.
According to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, detectives with the McKean County Drug Task Force charged the pair with selling crack cocaine to a confidential informant while under surveillance by the task force on Friday.
After the alleged sale, officers with Bradford City Police pulled over the vehicle the women were driving on Chestnut Street in Bradford. The vehicle was reported stolen by Hertz Rental Company in Buffalo, Shaffer said.
Officers searching the vehicle found money, baggies commonly used to package crack cocaine for sale, and a scale with suspected cocaine residue believed to have been used to weigh the crack cocaine prior to sale. Upon arrest, Rollins was found to be in possession of additional crack cocaine, Shaffer said.
Rollins was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver/delivery, felonies; conspiracy possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor; possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; criminal use of a communication facility, a third-degree felony; and possession of a small amount of marijuana, a misdemeanor.
Brown was charged with possession with intent to deliver/delivery of a controlled substance, a felony; conspiracy possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; and receiving stolen property (vehicle), a third-degree felony.
The McKean County Drug Task Force was assisted by Bradford City Police and the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford Police.
Both women are scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
