An Allegany, N.Y., man succumbed to injuries Wednesday from a Feb. 5 car crash in Cameron County in which another man was killed.

James Burgeson, 61, the owner of Olean (N.Y.) Class Cars, died in a Pittsburgh area hospital.

At the time of the crash, Emporium-based state police said a car driven by Burgeson was traveling west on Route 120 in Portage Township, Cameron County, while a pickup truck driven by Philip Wagner, 51, from West Virginia, was traveling east.

Police said Burgeson’s car traveled into the eastbound lane and struck Wagner’s truck head-on.

Both Wagner and Burgeson were freed from their vehicles by members of the Emporium Fire Department.

Burgeson was airlifted to UPMC Altoona with critical injuries. Wagner was transported to Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys, where he was pronounced dead by Elk County coroner Michele Muccio.

Route 120 was closed for about four hours following the crash.
