About Mikey's Emporium

Local Man Offers Great Values on Varied Products

Mike General, better known to his friends as Mikey G, opened the doors to Mikey’s Emporium II in Kill Buck, NY back in April of 2012.  This marks Mikey’s third endeavor in owning and operating his own business.  He also owns Mikey’s Emporium, located in Irving New York, and Mikey’s Smoking Café, located in Gowanda New York.

Mikey opened his original Emporium in March of 2008 and he experienced enough success there to try his hand at opening more locations.  He chose to establish all three of his business locations on Indian Territory, which enables Mikey and his crew to offer all their products tax-free.  Mikey’s Emporium offers something for everyone, with a selection of products ranging from cigarettes, cigars and smoking accessories, to soy candles, jewelry and sunglasses.

Mikey also constantly increases and restocks his inventory in order to keep up with all the latest products and demands.  If they don’t carry a specific product or brand you’re looking for, just let them know about it and they will do their best to ensure they start supplying it for you.  Mikey has even set plans in motion to expand his Kill Buck location so he can then offer an even more extensive line of products.

Mikey said he chose to locate his store outside of downtown Salamanca because he felt it would have proven more difficult to expand his store downtown.  He also said he enjoys the wide-open space feeling his Kill Buck location offers, in addition to the parking-perks that accompany it during his monthly sales events.  Mikey and his crew provide a variety of entertainment for these sales events.  For example, one of the employees dresses up in a hot dog mascot costume for the kids.  They also server free Tim Hortons coffee and donuts in the morning, then switch over to serving free pizza and hot dogs around lunch time and continue until they run out.

The people at Mikey’s Emporium definitely believe in giving back to their customers, even going so far as to hold customer appreciation giveaways.  So far, they have given away items such as televisions, Bradford Speedway tickets and video recorders.  Mikey’s even offers a pavilion with full electrical capabilities to service the customers’ needs and desires.

Mikey said he likes being able to bring products into the area to provide them to the locals.  This saves them from having to make a trip elsewhere, which, in turn, saves them both money and travel time.  These aspects along with the top-notch customer service have resulted in many customers saying they will start shopping exclusively at Mikey’s.

In addition to all that Mikey offers his customers, he also does his best to give back to the communities that support him.  He donates a lot of money to local organizations that he considers worthy causes, such as the local fire and police departments and local sports teams.  He also sponsors local golf tournaments and offers his store up for many local vendors to sell their products.  In fact, Mikey’s offers jewelry made by local Seneca Nation of Indians Territory resident Kristina McLeod.

As you can see, Mikey and the crew at Mikey’s Emporium II do a lot for their customers and the local community, but Mikey simply believes it to be his duty.  In response to the way he operates his business, Mikey had this to say about himself as an Indian, “We’re merchants and traders, it’s in our blood!”

Mikey also wanted everyone to know, “Our friendly and helpful staff are sure to greet you with a free smile, in fact, it’s priceless.”  So stop on in and visit with Mikey and his “family” at Mikey’s Emporium II.
