About Grand Center Station
Local Seneca Woman Provides for her Community
Sandra Hill and her husband Donald Hill built Grand Center Station located on Center Street in Salamanca, New York back in 2004. They not only set out to provide a convenience store and gas station to the local community, but also to offer seven additional store locations for community members who wanted to pursue opening and operating their own business. Sandra, a member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, owns many different companies located on the Seneca Territory in the Salamanca area.
In 2007, Maxine Jimerson, herself a prominent Salamanca area business woman, bought the Grand Center Station building. Sandra Hill currently leases the convenience store portion of the building from Maxine and she continues to provide the community with the same high-quality service she started offering in 2004 when she first opened. She does not stand alone in that endeavor though.
Sandra has many good employees working for her to ensure that she can meet her customers’ needs and desires. She considers all the people who work for her as members of her extended family. Chrystine Hill has proven herself as one of the key employees at Grand Center Station, serving as the Executive Manager. She leads the team with her expertise in store and financial management, as well as marketing and personnel responsibilities. Gerald Hill also serves Sandra well as the Store Manager and he takes on the responsibility of handling the operation of the store and definitely attributes to Grand Center Station’s success.
Sandra had this to say about her employees and her store’s success, “Most importantly our team members provide outstanding customer service, which sets us apart from other businesses. We value our employees as they are the main reason for our success. Not only are we known for our exemplary customer service, we also have tax-free products.”
In addition to the gasoline they sell tax-free, the convenience store offers a wide variety of different products. They sell soda and other beverages as well as varied grocery products. They also offer up many different selections of snacks including some locally made beef jerky and beef sticks. You can most definitely taste the difference in the quality of the meat in these snacks versus their name brand counterparts, which also sets them apart from other stores as well.
They have a humidor room filled with a wide assortment of cigars and cigar accessories. To add to the rooms appeal, it smells heavily of the cedar wood used to build it. They also offer a large walk-in cooler with a wide selection of beers to suit anyone’s taste. Also, if you’re looking for something to read to pass the time, they offer newspapers and a nice selection of magazines to fit anyone’s interests.
Sandra had this to say to her community, “We value all our customers and are thankful for their patronage and support of our business.” Therefore, if you want to experience the friendly atmosphere, pick up some snacks and something good to read, or whatever your flavor may be, make sure you can find your way over to Grand Center Station by checking their map at the top of the site. You can also print off some directions if you like.
