Emporium — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that pipe replacement work on Route 4002 (Beechwood Road) in Shippen Township, Cameron County, is slated for Sept. 17. The road will be closed after school buses have completed their morning routes. An official detour will be in place during the closure.

A new, larger pipe will replace the existing pipe spanning West Creek near the West Creek Rail Trail crossing. Motorists will follow an official detour using Route 120 and Route 1003 (West Creek Road). The road will reopen in the afternoon.

All work is weather and schedule dependent and will be done by PennDOT Cameron County Maintenance.

The overall project involves excavation, removal of the existing pipe, placement of the new, larger pipe, backfilling and paving.
