A Duke Center man was arraigned Friday on allegations that he threatened another person during an alleged altercation in Duke Center.
Sidney D. Beckwith, 60, is charged with terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault, a third-degree misdemeanor; and harassment, a summary offense.
According to the criminal complaint, on Jan. 29, police were called to meet a male victim who said when he went to pick up his children from Beckwith’s residence, Beckwith would not let him. The male said Beckwith grabbed him by the throat, but he pushed him away. Beckwith then went in the garage, retrieved a baseball ball and threatened to “beat him within an inch of his life,” the complaint noted.
Beckwith was arraigned before District Judge Rich Luther and released on his own recognizance. He waived his preliminary hearing as well. Beckwith is represented by attorney Jay Paul Kahle.
