REUNION BLUES: Barney Snyder of Tucson, Ariz., writes, “Your column about reunions and get togethers was a good one. I never attended a reunion until my 45th. Can’t explain why. I do know that I missed a lot. So, I have been to three now and will attend everyone if physically able.”
“Those 10 gals who have met every year for the past 11 years. That is real friendship and I bet they start looking forward to the next get-together as soon as they say good-bye. Kudos for them. I am very fortunate in that regard as I have the opportunity to spend time with two of my best friends every year. It is so much fun, so relaxing.
“The biggest concern when the wives are not BHS’ers, too, is that they will enjoy each other’s company as well. We lucked out in that regard, so the wives are included and, I think, it is really healthy to have such a good time.”
LOOKING BACK: And on a reunion of a different sort, we hear from Larry Vecellio of Gainesville, Ga.:
“I am so pleased that with the start of our 50th reunion, 1958 football team at St. Bernard, that it has encouraged others to be reminded of their football days in Bradford. I wish to thank all of those who have come up with these wonderful memories and to write them down and have them ready for a possible publishing of a book which I would like to put together.
“So with all the memories from everyone please send them to me (lvecellio@bellsouth.net) or at my address, 715 Park Creek Ct., Gainesville, Ga. 30504, and I will do my best to put it all together. Send pictures, copies of clippings, stories in your own words.
“Let’s go with any year, any school. This will be great reading one day next year, I hope.
On a very different subject, Larry has also written to us about Jake the Rag Man.
“This is going back about 60 years ago about a man with a truck and came through Lewis Run selling and buying rags. Does anyone remember this man and his name?” he asks.
