KANE — A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday afternoon during a three-vehicle accident on Route 446 in Eldred Township, just north of Craybrooke Road.

Eugene A. Ennis was killed at 2:04 p.m. when he was thrown from his motorcycle during the crash, according to Kane-based state police. McKean County Deputy Coroner Robert Hartle pronounced Ennis dead at the scene.

June Marie Troutman was also hurt during the crash and taken to Olean (N.Y.) General Hospital for treatment, but reports did not specify the extent of her injuries.

Troutman had been driving south on Route 446 when her car crossed the centerline and struck Ennis’ motorcycle, which had been heading north, police said. Ennis was thrown from his motorcycle and landed on the berm.

Meanwhile, Troutman’s car continued south, crossing back into the southbound lane and off the berm, police said. Her car then hit a car operated by Kevin George Kanally on the berm.

Kanally was not injured, police said. Ennis’ and Troutman’s vehicles had major damage; Kanally’s car had moderate damage.

Several ambulance crews were called to the scene, according to police.

The investigation is continuing.
